In a joint effort with CARE international Maroc, French Montana is funding two preschool classrooms. The Moroccan-born rapper will provide supplies and maintenance for the Sabae School of Fida-Mers Sultan district. This initiative is his way of giving back to a place dear to his heart.
Along with his family, he moved to America at the age of 13. Today, he is one of many immigrants who have positive impact on their community. Providing a platform for Dreamers.
This is not the first time the rapper gave back to the community. In fact he’s known for his philanthropic efforts. In October he joined the Massbailout; an initiative focused on freeing children and women from Rikers Island. Prior to that, he spoke against president Trump’s decision to terminate the DACA program: immigrants only defence against deportation.
Montana is proud of his roots, and shows it every time he has the chance. From his interviews to his lyrics, he always makes sure to display his love for his homeland. This time, however, his support will directly affect those in need. Education is vital to the future of any generation, and Montana couldn’t have timed his intervention any better.
He leads by example, and we hope more celebrities will follow in his footsteps and join his cause.
