As the weather is getting colder, today is a perfect day to stay at home if you’re a football lover and you happen to be a couch potato –or you’re trying to quit smoking. (you’re not concerned if you live in Australia).
Since the Champions League games will be played in mid-week, all the participant teams will have domestic duties today –except for PSG and Napoli who won yesterday against Lille and Empoli, respectively.
This Super Saturday is full of clashes that you don’t wanna miss, so here’s a schedule to help you make the most of your day.
1:30 pm, Manchester United will be heavy visitors at the Dean Court to face local team A.F.C. Bournemouth who has enough weapons to make it rain goals on De Gea. Manchester United are inconsistent this season. One minute they’re lions, the next lemmings. Their form is falling off a cliff, standards are falling and if there’s responsibility that falls on Jose Mourinho, as gaffer, to assume his mistakes, he’d rather blame the cold weather.
6.30 pm, match of the day: Arsenal receives Liverpool at Emirates Stadium.
Both teams are in great shape this season. Despite losing their two opening games, Arsenal are now stronger than ever. Getting rid of Arsène Wenger at the end of last season after 22 years spent at North London seemed liked a page turned of a book of both glory and shame. The arrival of new coach Unay Emry is the beginning of a new era, fresh, ready and willing. His one touch playing style is remarkable, and it seems to fit the quality of players he has.
On the other hand, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool is first class. He struggled, persisted, and built a winning team. A team that has world class forwards and a solid bench can only be favorite to win every game .
Players to watch: Özil, Lacazette, Aubameyang from Arsenal. Shaqiry, Salah, Mané from Liverpool.
